Funding typically begins the term after your child reaches the eligible age. For example, if your child turns 3 in May, their funding will start in September.
Kia Mena operates for 43 weeks each year.
Government-funded childcare is available for 15 or 30 hours per week for 38 weeks per year, which totals:
At Kia Mena, we stretch the funding across our full 43-week year. This means:
Breakfast Club- 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM (funding unavailable)
Morning Session- 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (4 hours)
Afternoon Session-1:00 PM - 4.30 PM (3.5 hours)
Afterschool Club- 4.30 PM - 5.30 PM (funding unavailable)
Not all children under 3 are eligible for funding. However, from the term after your child turns 2 until the term after they turn 3, there are two types of funding support available.
Who is eligible? Children from families who receive certain government benefits, such as Universal Credit, may qualify for this funding. You can apply via Bromley Council: https://www.bromley.gov.uk/education-learning/funded-early-education-childcare-two-year-olds.
What does it cover? Up to 13.25 funded hours per week, for 43 weeks per year.
